ABOUT M'LISSA

M'lissa (born 30-01-1997 Helmond, The Netherlands as Melissa Engelhart) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. Born into a very musical family, M'lissa learned to love music from a very early age. She plays the piano and taught herself some guitarchords to make songwriting easier.
M'lissa has been performing on stage from the early age of five! With more than 5 million views on YouTube,  2,2 million streams on Spotify and multiple TV- and radio appearances, you can tell M'lissa is very passionate and serious about music.
Her career started with her participation at a Dutch singing contest called 'Junior Song Festival' in '08. She reached the finals with her song 'Als ik in de lucht kijk'. Later that year she also received a golden record for this song. After having a taste of what the music branche really was like, she decided she wanted a longlasting music career. Her single 'Hopefully' reached the heady position of number 10 in the official Dutch Top 100!
Her debutalbum 'Beautiful' has been produced by top 10 producer/songwriter J.S Weastell and mastered by grammy-winning mastering engineer Bob Katz. The first single of the album 'Ashes on the ground' reached the steady position of number 17 in the official Dutch Top 100 for 14 weeks! The video already received more than 2 million views on YouTube.
In 2016 M'lissa decided to make a more sophisticated sound. R&B/Motown with a touch of oldskool soul-vibes. Her love and passion for this genre resulted in tracks like 'Superheroine', 'Girls Night Out', 'Tambourine Man' and 'I wish everyday was Christmas' all written and produced by Jan van der Toorn.
December '16 M'lissa released her song 'I wish everyday was Christmas'. This was the beginning of a returning Christmas-hitsong. M'lissa got noticed by Dutch Radio stations. Meanwhile the song got played in more than 32 countries all troughout the globe.
In '18 M'lissa participated a Dutch TV-Show 'The Voice of Holland' where she got a four-chair-turning performance with the song  'Feel it Still' originally from Portugal. The Man.
2019 is in the sign of working on new music, touring and performances. Good things are coming.
